One of the ways injured workers and others seeking legal counsel find representation is through other attorney’s recommendation. This is the basis Super Lawyers uses to establish its Rising Stars list, a legal magazine and online directory of outstanding lawyers in 70 different practice areas.
Denver workers’ compensation lawyer R. Mack Babcock has been added to the 2010 Rising Stars list, joining an elite group of attorneys who are under 40 or have less than 10 years of experience.
Super Lawyers asks attorneys in Colorado and 17 other states to nominate other attorneys they have witnessed first-hand – either as co-counsel, opposing counsel or through courtroom observation. After Super Lawyers receives a nomination, an attorney led team researches the nominee’s qualifications and experience and assigns points based on a broad set of criteria.
Once their research is complete, they tally up the points to arrive at a final number. Those with the highest totals are added to the list after the team also considers their firm size, practice area and geographic area to ensure they have a well balanced list.
Only 2.5% of attorneys in a given state are added to the list each year.
“I am quite honored and humbled my legal colleagues in Denver nominated me to the Rising Stars list,” comments Denver workers’ compensation lawyer R. Mack Babcock. “I simply try to do the best I can in aggressively representing the interests of injured workers.”
The Rising Stars list is also produced in California, Georgia, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Texas and many other states across the U.S.
